I started reading other people's blogs when I was on maternity leave and became addicted! We'd just moved back into our house after having an extension built and I'd also just given birth to our second son. We've been doing little bits to the house as we go along and the purchase of some second hand pine chairs has been the inspiration for me to start this blog. Things are quite hectic now I've gone back to work and have two small boys to look after, but we're slowly getting there!!
Before we moved out, I bought two pine chairs from a furniture Age Concern charity shop near where I live. We were desperate for some new chairs as our old ones were falling apart. We didn't want to but any new, expensive chairs as we weren't sure what the kitchen was going to look like. They were only ever meant to be a stop gap really, until we got the kitchen sorted. Anyway, I was going past a shop in York where some pine chairs had been re-vamped and I fell in love with them!
We then bought another three pine chairs off e bay for £16. We just need to get one more from somewhere! We have plenty time though as it's taken me a week to (nearly) finish one!
Here are some pics:
(need to work out how to rotate photos!!)
and painted...
I just have the legs to do. I'm really happy with the results as it's the first time I've done this. It's going to take a while to finish them all!! I adore the colour! My oldest boy's favourite colour is red so he loves them too!!!It was hard work...sanding...priming...but worth it!
Other things I've been doing in my spare time:
A knitted doillie for my friend's birthday present. I hope she likes it
and...
a knitted mousie for my friend's baby.
Will be back in touch soon!! x
